Installing Mac OS X on Windows with VMware Workstation

Posted by Unknown
We need to have installed in Windows, VMware Workstation , in this case version 10, and a CD or image of the Mac OS, in my case the last one I have is the Snow Leopard 10.6 , I then just had DMG files to update on the OS itself (as I believe it will be passed to the majority).

Note: If you have a CD or image of a version higher than 10.6, you can also install it without any problems.

When creating a new virtual machine in VMware Workstation 10 we can choose between the options you see in the image.

So that leaves us the option to install Mac OS X (Intel), we need, first, download the following file: vmware-unlocker-mac-os-x-guest.zip

Unzip the file in C: \ (for convenience) Now open the Command Prompt as Administrator and gained access to the folder that interests us here at "C: \ vmware-unlocker-mac-os-x-guest \ VMware 8 .x + + 10.x 9.x Series \ VMware Workstation Unlocker - Windows " . (could have just unpacked the necessary folder) and run install.cmd

The program Unlocker 1.2.0 VMware begin to do their job

Once completed we reopened VMware Workstation and create a new virtual machine.

· New Virtual Machine File
Custom (advanced) · Next
10.0 WorkStation Hardware · Next

Maximum size 40GB disk (for example). Split into multiple virtual disk files · Next

The first change we see to start the virtual machine boot screen.

And then the Apple symbol.

When starting the installer, we choose the language for the system to continue, accept and detect that no hard, normal disk, you must format the virtual hard disk, firstly.

Click on Utilities · Disk Utility . We mark the VMware Virtual hard disk, go to the tab Delete , put Format Mac OS Extended (Journaled) , give it a name (Mac OS X) and click on Remove .

We hope that the hard drive is erased with the new format for Mac and close the window Disk Utility . Now if a hard drive appears, mark it and give Install .

And it starts installing the operating system.

When finished installing, the screen will appear Welcome , which will choose the country.

Subsequently windows appear:

Choose your keyboard (choose the appropriate te)
Have you got a Mac? (choose all that apply te)
Enter your Apple ID (sooner or later need an ID, create it if you have not)
Registration information (you can choose whether or not to include your personal details)
And we got to Create your account , where you create your username and password prompt, and posterirmente choose our Time Zone .

And press finally on OK .

And we have a virtual machine from Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard installed on your Windows computer with VMware Workstation 10.

Once installed update to the new version 10.9 Mavericks , but before, in this case, we need the operating system is in version 10.6.8 to install version 10.9.

We downloaded with Safari, the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 (1,01GB) from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399?viewlocale=es_ES .

After the download, the installation wizard opens and click on Continue until you see the option to install (it will ask the credentials that we created earlier) and hope to complete the update.

After the update, click on Reset .

As we see again the Mac desktop we headed to the top left (the apple) and click on App Store . You will begin to search for new software and if all goes well, we install version 10.9 Mavericks appear. Note: To install need Apple ID, if we have not created earlier will need to create at this time.

Click on Free underneath the OS X Mavericks option and change to Install App , and we ask our login ID and begin the installation, reaching a new icon in the Dock.
